Dear All
I’ve now been back in London for a little over two weeks and the memory of galloping across the sands on ‘Glider’ is still fresh in my mind, and getting me through the long days back in the Office.
Thank you so much for providing me with a truly memorable break, your home is so special and the horses are truly remarkable. My photo’s of ‘Glider’ are taking prime place as my computer screen saver! I will certainly return soon.
Thank you again for allowing me to ride your magnificent horse and enjoy the beautiful countryside of Ireland (despite the rain J).
All the best,

Dear Colette, dear Tilman,
Marie and I left on Friday quite early, but I did not want to miss the chance to thank you for a wonderful holiday.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere at your place and the trust you've given us.
We did the Sligo/ Yeats Trail and though we got lost a couple of times, we enjoyed every minute of the trail. Sorry again, for not calling back Tilman.
I was quite impressed when I saw Davis for the first time, but galloping with him along the beach was the most amazing thing I ever experienced. He's awesome and a reliable partner, I was really happy
that I was able to do the trail on his back.
Marie and I also decided to come back next year.
Thanks again for everything,
Nicole
P.S. If you guys ever think of selling Davis, please give me a call first.

Dear Colette,
Thank you and Tilman so much for a wonderful horseriding experience. I enjoyed travelling on Sir Henry's back and Boudewijn learned a lot about horses. He totally fell in love with Ben and we are both having a hard time not beeing around horses all day. The trail was wonderful and so was the bed & breakfast experience.
While I was unpacking my stuff at home I noticed that I forgot to give you the key to the forest back (we were picked up and dropped off at the busstation, so we did not return to the farm). I will send it to you as soon as possible.
And again, thank you so much! We will definitely be back one day!

Dear Colette and Tilman,
My friends and I had the pleasure of doing the Donegal West Trail last week and we had a great time.
I wanted to thank you for the warm welcome and for providing such excellent and fun horses. You gave us the possibility to enjoy Donegal as it should be enjoyed: on horseback. We felt very welcome at all the B&B's, met such nice people and enjoyed the beautiful Irish landscape.
I wish you all the best and I hope to see you again in the future, perhaps for another trail!
Kind regards,
Anka
p.s. please send regards to Artie and Jerry - they made us feel totally at home with jokes and great assistance.

Liebe Colette, lieber Tilman,
Ich bin vom Termin her völlig frei. Geht da was?

I want to thank you for the excellent experience my friend Joe Steele and I had riding earlier this month. As a relatively novice rider, I was a little concerned at being able to handle Diamond after the first introduction to his desire to gallop anywhere near the beach. I just didn't know if I was up to it! Donal and Tillman were both reassuring and helpful, and I have to say that first gallop on the beach on the way back to the Farm was amazing. I was so pleased to stay in the saddle! Riding the Yeats trail was a delight. Joe and I were astonished that the horses could handle so many different kinds of terrain. While there is a fair bit of clippity-clopping along the roads, one never minds watching the country side pass by, and the highlights along the beaches, cliffs, and through the forests, are just amazing, and well-worth the walk to get to them. Our accommodations were always comfortable and our hosts delightful. Dympna Rooney was a special joy to stay with, and were were glad that our change of plans took us to her home. I wanted to improve my riding and learn on this trip. I resume my regular lessons later this week, and I guess I will see what kind of difference it has made in the ring. But I already know that my confidence and ability have grown exponentially after five days of riding Diamond.
My friend Joe said he thought that our trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I know what he meant, but we may prove him wrong, since we have already started talking about a return! Thanks for everything!
Sincerely,
SEAN MULLEN |

Donegal Trail West 13 - 20 June 10
Hi Jackie,Tilman and Colette,
Thank you so much for a wonderful exciting experience on the Donnegal West Horse Trail Ride, myself, my niece Ashleigh and her friend Maxine had a fantastic time.
I must apolagise for the lack of experience that Maxine had horse riding, I was not aware of it untill we arrived,as I told the girls a year ago if they wanted to do the trail ride with me,they would have to have lessons and learn how to control a horse, walk, trot, canter and gallop, and be able to tack, bridle and saddle the horse.Which I new Ashsleigh had done, she had lessons.I was led to believe Maxine had done the same, but she did'nt tell me till we arrived that she had'nt followed through on lessons. So I apolagise,as I know the risks envolved with horse riding and I was extremely upset with her for putting us and you in that position.
Thanks to you Tilman for choosing the beautiful gentle Cormack Maxine coped very well on the ride,Ashleigh had Garryfin and I had Duffy !
Duffy was an experience,he has the funniest, quirky sense of humour,he knows one speed flat out,but I found him to be a very enjoyable ride, once we got to know each other, after the first hour I thaught what have I got myself into,he was very flighty and excited with the other horses,so I thaught he wants to go fast I'll let him go and gave him full rein and let him go,I knew that I had to let him know he could'nt put it over me and once he knew that he was fine.
I rode him very loose rein,we worked well together,he's very responsive to commands.Apart from him trying to bite and kick me whilst brushing and saddling him,I learnt to be very quick.I could'nt help but laugh at his antics,he would do his stretches after saddling up ready for the ride,I've never seen a horse do a cat stretch like he does, and he loved to roll after his days ride...I took two large stones out of his front foot which he had a habit of lodging large stones in his front hooves in the paddocks,he was very greatful when I removed them for him.....
He kept us very amused throughout the ride,I learnt to tie him up better after he untied himself at the pub,I had Asheigh watch him whilst I got my drink,as I knew how cheeky he was....
I must say I did fall in love with him and miss him very much,he is very intelligent and I could'nt believe it when I saw him demand to have his food in a different stall,he tapped on the stable door demanding attention and the gentleman who drove the truck said,oh its because there was abit of water left in the feed bin,he wont eat it,so he put him were the horses are shod (shoed) and he happily ate his food....WOW my horse I owned named Pardon was very smart but Duffy he is amazing, and I would have loved to have spent more time with him.....
Duffy's antics
He pulled out a plant in the garden near the food mart.
I'm not 100% sure ,but it may of been him who got the lid off the feed bin. He pulled the big water barrel over closer to him at Dry Arch B&B,so funny he thaught I was'nt looking, then when he knew I was looking he'd stop, then try again...
Over the mountains and Boggs he was hilarious going over the bridges, treading so carefully, one bridge he got half way accross and it started to sink,he was like I'm not going any further, but with a little reasurance he was fine and continued accross, then he would'nt walk through the little gully,he decided he would jump it from standing still position....
Duffy was great to open some of the gates ,I was impressed..
At the first B&B he spilt the water everywhere.
Cormack and Garryfin, had to keep trotting up every now and then, because they could'nt keep up with Duffy,he walks flat out,I enjoyed the pace he went.
Duffy even learnt when I'd say to the left, car coming he would move to the left and off the road.
When ever I got out my camera or the map Duffy thaught he could put it over me and try eat or trot, thinking I was distracted,it was so funny,He soon learnt he was'nt able to eat when he wanted to....
He did love his apple I gave him at the end of the day !!!!
Duffy had the smoothest stride,I loved his trot and he cantered beautifully,I usually don't enjoy galloping ,but he was very smooth,I love a controlled canter and he was fantastic and a sitting trot !
The Trail was great, the B&B's and owners were lovely, fabulous food and very welcoming...
I think we only missed two of those YELLOW ARROWS,which only meant we went a longer way around,so no drama...
I would definately recommend to friends and family.....
It was the highlight of my trip,I think it is a great opportunity for people to ride in such picturess country,it was beautiful accross the mountains and to the sea...
Thanks again to you and your very helpful staff for helping show us how to put the saddle bags on ,as I had never used saddle bags before.
The breakfast at the farm was sensational ,best scrambled eggs and accomodation was very comfortable....
The horses are gorgeous, absolutely huge!!!! my horse i owned was only 14hands,so wow could't get over how big they are and gentle nature....
Regards Debbi |

Dear Tilman, Dear Colette,
Dear everybody on Horse-Holiday farm
We have returned back from our wonderful holiday in Ireland. The time at your farm and the wonderful riding made this holiday to the best und most unforgettable of our life. Even only my wife went riding, I loved it as well. Everything was so beautiful, relaxed, and your team and the wonderful horses made it to an unforgettable experience. Joe Jo is such a lovely, nice horse and Karin loved him so much. It was very hard to say good-by after one week. Karin was really moved to tears when the last riding day was over.
We hope that when we come back next year Joe Jo will still be there.
Horse Holiday farm is the most wonderful place for riding. The landscape scenery is incredible. The organization is perfect and we felt your warm welcome and atmosphere from the beginning on.
We took a horseshoe of Joe Jo as a memory and it will get an exclusive place in our house.
And one thing is fixed as well, I got so enthusiastic about this great riding place that I start now practice riding as well. So next time I will not longer be “passive”.
Thank you so much for everything and for great memories, and we come back next year!
This is a must!
Lovely greetings from Austria

Just a quick one to say a huge thanks for another fabulous weekend

was so lovely to see Colette and Tilman again. And thanks so
much for requesting Butler for me - he was an absolute gem!
My two friends from the UK loved it as well and are mad keen to
come back, so looks like it's worked its usual magic!
Please pass on my thanks to everyone; I'm looking forward to next
year already!

Dear Colette and Tilman,
Apologies for taking so long to send this, things took over once
I got home and time doesn't seem to be my own sometimes!!
Once again we had a wonderful time 'riding by the sea' and thank
you both very much for everything. Please pass on our thanks to
Karen and Eino, they were both good fun and very helpful.
Thankfully we left in plenty of time last Monday as we took the
'straight' road to the airport instead of bearing left at Sligo!!
So, the journey took a little longer than we anticipated - still
we won't
make the mistake again!
Enjoy your week away in the sunshine and hope the Winter goes well
for you.
See you next year!
Kind regards and thanks again.

PS - Fred would be pleased to lead rides if you need him at all
next year!

a wonderful two days here at the farm – impressively
organised and the weather cooperated. Next was the Donegal
West side – moors, forests, bogs and roads. Clean welcoming
b & b’s at the end of the day. Highlight! several
gallops on the beach at Portnoo with the waves and the wind
and good old Paddy and Chieftan carrying us over the wet sand – just
like the black stallion. Many thanks.

give Siliveroe and Guinness a hug for us. We miss those long rides
and pub stops and hope to come back before the joints get too stiff.
The last picture is Taugh - (He and I are on the right having done

guarding mares. Too tame! )

This is the
most wonderful place to ride a horse. We galloped along endless,
empty beaches. Cantered along grassy tracks and fields, rode
along cliff tops and trotted down typical Irish lanes passing
gorgeous little cottages. The space to ride in is second to none.
The scenery all around is to die for. There is even an island
you can gallop too when the tide is out. We took a picnic with
us that day and we can truly say it was one of the best days
of our lives.
Tilman has over 90 horses and gave us two big, fit Irish Hunters.
If you are a good rider he has horses which will dance on the beach,
excited about the gallop to come.
For the less experienced he has quieter mounts but all the horses
enjoyed a gallop and most importantly all seem to know when to stop
at the end !
All the horses were well mannered and nothing seemed to worry them.
They were the most perfect hacking out horses.
What we did love at the farm was that we got to look after our horses
for the length of the holiday. In the morning (after a wonderful
Irish breakfast) we went down to the field to bring our horses to
the stables. After feeding them and grooming, we then got to tack
them up ourselves. It would be a great help to have a bit of knowledge
on tacking up before you go but there are always staff on hand to
show you the ropes. After riding all day we washed the horses down,
fed them and put them out for the night. We fell in love with our
beautiful horses and found it hard to leave them at the end of the
holiday.
Another aspect we enjoyed was the fact you can stop at the local
pubs, tie your horse up and order lunch and (in our case) pints of
Guinness!
The farm also has a Cross Country course and although we are not
the most fantastic jockeys over jumps we did have a go at the smaller
ones which was brilliant.
We can not recommend this place highly enough. You are allowed to
go off alone, responsible for yourself and your mount. The sense
of freedom and adventure is incredible.
We have been on many riding holiday over the years but can honestly
say this is the best. The horses, the hospitality, the beaches and
the scenery make this place totally unique!

Lieber Tilmann!

Dear Colette
and Tilman
Doing the Yeats trail was a dream come true. It was such a great
experience to ride the trail independently, which gave us a great
sense of freedom and adventure. We were amazed how well Tilman was
able to match us up with the right horses. My friend Eva got Glider,
an energetic leading and super fast horse. I got Traveller, a very
steady relaxed, forward horse, enjoying a lively gallop too, but
no crazy racing.
We loved all the warm welcomes we got in the B & Bs and are especially
impressed about the organisation of Colette and Tilman’s business.
Please continue this farm as long as possible
so that we can come back and do the other trails.

Hi,
Kultur kennen lernen wollen.
Liebe Grüße
Alex Krycek
